We often say, that how we feel is reflected in our looks. The converse is also true, and how we look, can affect our feelings.
From the feed back from my patients over many decades, I believe that it does. My patients tell me that after rhinoplasty surgery, they have got more self confident, as they no longer feel conscious about their nose. The same feeling is reflected by my patients after various procedures. After gynaecomastia surgery, my patients have been able to go back to the gym as they feel more confident about their body. This improves their physical and mental health. Similarly post liposuction too.
If you look better, you feel better, and that makes you a happier and a better person.

There are things you could do to look after the wound and help the skin to heal well and quickly.
After surgery, ensure that you are eating a healthy and balanced diet. Take some time off work, rest and sleep well. Follow the surgeon’s instructions about exercise and do not overdo it.
Avoid smoking and alcohol before and after surgery. Protect your skin from the sun, as sun exposure can increase pigmentation in the scar. If needed, use a sun protection cream and use a scarf or hat.
Our body has great healing and repairing powers but we can help by looking after ourselves.
